    Thumbs up

A relative is using Comcast mail and is having problems opening mail. I suggested that he use Outlook Express since he's running Internet Explorer 7. He wanted to know if he could transfere his mail from Comcast to OE.

I'm not sure and I don't want to lead him wrong. Can this be done and if so how?

Once the Comcast account is set up in OE, the messages will be downloaded to OE.
But he needs to check the options in OE as there may be a setting set to leave messages on server.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I recommend that he use Mail - Windows Live instead of OE. OE is old, unstable, and virtually unsupported.

NOTE: the procedures for setup should be very close to the same as the link for setting up Comcast in OE.

I believe that they should be able to do this Gloria. Whichever email program, OE or Live Mail, once set up should DL anything from the Comcast account that is in the Inbox.

So simply log into Comcast and move anything they want to the Inbox, minimize the browser window and open the new email client. Everything in the Inbox should download to the Inbox of the new email program. If so, check to see if a copy was left on the server (re-open the browser window and check). If it was and your friend doesn't want that, there is a setting to change that in the email client. If it didn't DL the stuff check the setting on the email client. HTH
