I apologize guys, 'cause I think I asked this recently, but cannot find my own d--- post!

I get an "Authentication Failed" error if I try to open a WMV attachment by just clicking it. But if I save it to the desktop, it opens fine.

What do I need to adjust in Outlook?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

As far as I can tell, you haven't asked this before.

In general, it is better to save an attachment to disk and to open the saved version, instead of opening it directly from within an e-mail message.

Hans, no argument there. But it should *be able* to be opened without error, shouldn't it?

I have no idea, I don't use Outlook 2007. But why worry about it?

I've never seen that particular message. If attachments behave differently when saved to a normal folder on disk, one possibility is the different security levels between the Outlook cache and the local drive. For your security, DO NOT reduce Outlook's security zone setting.

Jefferson, I dunno, since I (believe it or not!) never change my security settings except to allow macros in Outlook.

    H-n-n-n-n...
