The work on picture rails proceeds apace; a slow pace.
I put another one up today. I need 50 new frames, proper hooks and standardized lengths of cord.

I hung seven of my bird photos, just for the heck of it.

They make me very homesick , and I should probably not look at them for that reason alone, but they were a set of 12 on a calendar when I left Perth in 1980 to go to Singapore.
A nice man in Singapore framed them for me at $S1/frame, about $US0.50 at that time.

Over the years I have tried to track down Deidre Hunt - even writing to The Bulletin at one stage - with no success.
I realized today she might have married an no longer be Deidre Hunt.

If anyone can supply any contact details I'd be grateful .

    As might she be.

You might contact Barbara Higgins & Associations - Specialists in Commissioned Art. They list several works by Deidre Hunt (see the Animals section).

Thanks BATcher, it does to the extent that it confirms my earlier findings, that she appears not to have an existence today outside of other people's web sites.

As Hans has pointed out, I'll probably have to try through a sales agent.

I already know they look wonky.

FWIW my prime reason for wanting picture rails is that one doesn't have to have a friend eyeball and give stupid directions.
One can can slide the hook along the rail, and adjust the string/wire daily until it looks Just Right.

    A bit like a Ukulele.

    Jezza take note.
See what I mean about friends criticizing one's life's work in hanging pictures?

Oh! Chris. Don't you remember that for an Australian, that sort of comment is a sign of affection?
It's good to see you in the play area again.

I'd be a bit careful about 'signs of affection'.

True, but only because it makes it easier for me to get OUT of the country.

In my travels, I discovered that the Kimberley region of South Africa is quite like the Kimberley region of Western Australia. But your Yilgarn is much nicer than ours! Not much canoeing near Southern Cross.
    Thanks for the link.

About 45 years ago after a particularly heavy winter, the lakes formed and remained near Doodalakine, I think, for several years.
The good crops that year influxed so much cash that some farmers bought speedboats and started up the Doodalakine Speedboat Club.
These were the years before the swimming pools arrived in each town, so it was quite the novelty.

From what I can find, she's based in Melbourne, but that's as far as my search takes me.
