Tracking Option (Outlook 2002)

When I try to change my settings for read receipts in the tracking options. I have only one option, which is always reply and the other two options are grayed out. Does anyone know how to get these back live to change my settings? I am running Win 98 and Exchange 2000. I don't have this problem on my w2k workstation.

Thanks,
Rbelly

It is a corp. computer but they did not disable the option and I am trying to get it back. Do you know where I can go to enable it again?

Thanks,

How did it get disabled if the IT people did not do it?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Anything under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER Policies key?

According to the OUTLK9.ADM file, for OL 2000, the setting is:

PART "When Outlook is asked to respond to a read receipt request:" DROPDOWNLIST
KEYNAME SoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftOffice9.0OutlookOptionsMa il
VALUENAME "Receipt Response"
ITEMLIST
NAME "Always send a response" VALUE NUMERIC 0
NAME "Never send a response" VALUE NUMERIC 1
NAME "Ask before sending a response" VALUE NUMERIC 2 DEFAULT
END ITEMLIST
END PART

I don't know whether setting a Policy here is merely a default, or would disable other choices. I also don't have similar information for OL 2002. Policies are new to me, so I'm interested in hearing whatever you have now, if anything.

setting a policy should always disable the other choices.

for ol2002, change the 9 to 10 - otherwise everythings the same.
