namely, a few minutes after using the Ctrl+F>Reading Highlight>Highlight All function to highlight all instances of a word, the highlighting disappears. I am not undoing it from with the Ctrl+F box (I don't even have the box open) and don't think I'm entering an undo keystroke, if there even is one. Therefore, I've no idea why this is happening.

    Anyone?

I would have assumed that this is by design - I thought that this method of highlighting text should be temporary and have never thought about how long it might stick for. It may be timed or related to a defined number of edits but either way the found highlights should not be a permanent addition to the file.

If you actually want to permanently highlight the found words then you will need to call up the search and replace dialog and add a highlight format to the found words.
