Error MAPl.dll message

Fri, Aug. 31, 01 at 8:39pm(PST) Hi, new at this and am trying. I keep getting this error message and don't know to what program it pertains. Any guesses.

Also, does anyone know how to get rid of those pesky advertising "Pop Ups" that keep unexpectly and unwantedly popping into my start page and also even when I go back to Windows98 desktop. Seems like an invasion of whatever privacy is left. Thank you.

    Re: Error MAPl.dll message

Mapi.dll is part of Windows so needs to be restored from the Windows cdrom. Click Start, programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information. From the tools Menu select System File Checker. Then select extract 1 file and type mapi.dll. Click start, then in the restore panel point to your Windows cd - d:win98 where d: is your cd. Click ok and the file should be restored and the mesage should stop.

As for the pop ups try visiting a download site like http://www.download.com and searching for pop up. There are a number of programs around that will get rid of them. They have been discussed in the Software Wants and Finds Forum. Try searching there also. I personally use a thing called Popupkiller which isn't bad.
