I don't know how I put it there, but I cannot get rid of the line shown below. I tried draft mode, I tried deleting everything to the end of the document...

How can I erase this line?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

    Perhaps it's a paragraph border?

If you wish, you can attach a copy of the document - you can delete most or all of the text from the copy.

If it's a paragraph border Hans, how do I get rid of that?

    Hans:

I just copied the document -- without the line -- by selecting it all. But when I pasted it into a new document, the line was there too.

Please attach (a stripped down copy of) the document to a reply.

    Hans:

This was actually done in 2007, but I saved it in 2003 -- that's what you use, yes?

    Hans:

I found it. You were right, it was a bottom border -- dunno how I did that, since I've never used them before.

Oh well, learn something new every day!

    Sorry to bother you, thanks.

    Regards,
    Chuck

That strange graphic line that turned out to be a paragraph border might have been a remnant of a table. The same thing happened with one of my Word 2000 documents some time ago. The fix was the same -- click on the line and press Delete, or I might have had to get into the Table feature and search to find the culprit.

Cheers, and happy writing to you.
