I received this error message today..."wuauclt.exe - Application error. Instructionat 0x7c9100e8 referenced memory at "0x00000010". Couldn't be read".

Does anyone know what this means? I googled it but the answers were more confusing than the question...I have noticed over the last day or two, after having my computer in Hibernation for about 24 hours, that it seems slow when using Excel or Word....rendering an image seems to take a long time and I was wondering if part of my RAM is corrupt. I checked My Computer and it still shows 2MB of RAM, so I am puzzled about this. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried rebooting your PC? Does the error reoccur after that?

Hi Hans....I rebooted when I read your reply and the message did not show up....haven't seen it if I come out of Stand-by...just this time coming out of Hibernation.....is there any method of testing to see if the RAM is good or bad?

I don't think that this is a problem with your RAM, but you could use Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool (free).
