I have searched the Internet with little success. I saw one place that said that Project 2007 can read Project 98, NOT. I saw another place that was suppose to convert Project 98 files, but only to Project 98.

Does anyone have knowledge of something that works? We will settle for a viewer at this point.

The first link I found stated that you have to set security to low in Project 2007 in order to open a Project 98 file.

(I don't have any version of Project so I can't verify this claim)

A search for viewers turns up:
    K-SOL Project Viewer
Stand Alone, PC Solution for Viewing Microsoft Project Files
    LiveProject

    Thanks, Hans

I tried setting the security in Project 2007, but still got the message that it could not open the file.

I could not open any of the files which are suppose to be Project 98. I tested each of the free viewers. My guess is that the Project files are actually older than Project 98. I think that we are out of luck. It is time to look for paper copies.

    Thanks again.
