I know Publisher isn't Quark Express, but does anyone know why you can scale a TIFF or JPEG and keep the resolution, but when you do the same to a GIF, it drops pixels? I wanted to put a simple logo over a picture, with the picture viewable through it (i.e. the GIF has a transparent background), but when the logo is shrunk, it goes all chunky (to use the technical term...).

I've tried using PNGs, but Publisher only seems to recognise transparency in GIFs.

Any help greatly appreciated, and apologies in advance if I'm missing something obvious.
