I have the formidable task of making a vector version of the attached logo.

The graphic design person who created this in Photoshop is unable to reproduce it in vector format. While the Photoshop file is great for advertising and print media in general, it's not what we need for doing screen printing, banners, etc. The Photoshop file she sent me crashes my program. Maybe because she's a MAC and I'm a PC? I have Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator CS. I'm working to reproduce the Photoshop file first because of the crash problem. Then I'll need to start on doing it again in Illustrator. I'd like to try and work this out if I can rather than hire a different graphic design person.

Suggestions on how to do this? Tutorials that apply what I have here?

    From here......

If you aren't familiar with the vectorizing process, you can pay a company like $10-$20 to make your photoshop design into a vector graphic (check out companies like vectordoctor.com and artworksource.com)

There is a tutorial here to create a vector image in Photoshop.

Try Vector Magic | Precision Bitmap To Vector Conversion Online. Just click the "Upload Image to Trace" link, then take it from there.

This worked pretty darn good. Played around with it a few different ways and used up my test runs but I think I've got something that will work now for the banners. Thank you!

Good to hear! I should have added that, once you have the vector, you can open it in an appropriate editor (free of course :grin and touch it up by fiddling the editing points etc. What file format did you end up getting?
