    Hello,

I'm creating two handbooks that have a cover page followed by the table of contents. I am trying to add page number to the TOC pages that use the "i, ii, iii" sequence. My problem is that the first TOC page insists on starting with ii, even though it's the first page in the new section and the footer is not linked with the cover page footer.

I am using Word 2007 on Vista.

Anyone else having this same problem and can provide a fix?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Lounge!

    You have two options.

One is to make page numbering restart at 1 in the second section:
    - Click anywhere in the second section.
    - Activate the Insert tab of the ribbon.
    - Click Page Number in the Header & Footer group.
    - Click Format Page Numbers.
    - Type 1 in the Start at box.
    - Click OK. then Close.

The other option is to start global page numbering at 0:
    - Click anywhere in the first section.
    - Activate the Insert tab of the ribbon.
    - Click Page Number in the Header & Footer group.
    - Click Format Page Numbers.
    - Type 0 in the Start at box.
    - Click OK. then Close.
