Hello, is there anyway to make the "Turn Off Computer" button on the start menu turn off the computer directly without giving any options? Failing that is there a way to remove the button then I can replace it with a shortcut to directly switch off the computer.

    Thanks,

    Chris (Hunt)

I found the policy settings at Microsoft.

Note: Except when noted, all of these registry settings are under the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

The registry entries are DWORD values. A value of 1 is enabled, and a value of 0 is disabled.

Policyisable and remove the Turn Off Computer button
Description:Removes the "Turn Off Computer" button from the Start Menu and
prevents shutting down Windows using the standard shutdown user interface.
    Registry Value:"NoClose"

Like Clippy says, "It looks like you are trying to lock down a PC. Can I help?"
Maybe have a look at Microsoft's Steady State software, and/or Google for something like "xp lock down pc"...
