For several years I have been syncing my Palm Treo 680 with Outlook on my desktop. I have also copied my Outlook.pst file successfully both ways between desktop and laptop, both using WinXP SP3. I have decided that I need to sync with the laptop when I'm away for long periods. I just installed Palm Desktop 6.2 on my laptop. I skipped the initial Hot Sync in the installation and checked all the defaults in the Hot Sync settings. They are correct, showing a two way sync for all applications. My outlook is standalone (no Exchange). On the Hot Sync Manager Applications/Configure/Settings menu there is a checkbox for Enable synchronization when Outlook is offline. Help says to use this when not connected to Exchange. Should this be ignored, since my OL is always standalone?
