System Restore

I cannot access System Restore, or Help. If I click on them, the screen flashes momentarily, but nothing else happens.
Also get 2 .DLL not found messages, N32USERL.Dll, and HCAPPRES.DLL. Can anyone help?

Thanks

On the N32USERL.DLL ...that is Norton AntiVirus...it means you have a corrupt file. The suggestion found at the Symantec site was:
"Uninstall, then re-install NAVirus software".
If that doesn't solve the problem, then it stated to contact Symantec for Tech Support..
The HCAPPRES.DLL is a WinME goodie. Do a search using just that name...I remember a site that had all the WinME .DLLs that were on the CD...
As to System Restore and Help...tried the Knowledgebase for queries? I can't remember the Q #s on these, but I know that these 2 are major problem areas on WinME.
Hope this helps you out a little.
Post back if anything is of help.

Re: System Restore

NAV doesn't like System Restore, as it interferes with virus definition updates. Need to run Liveupdate any time you restore. Norton SystemWorks hides System Restore and effectively stops it from working.

Thanks SparkyPatrick
Uninstalled Norton anti virus, still can't get system restore to work.
Can't even get help. Think it has something to do with "pchealth."
I get all kinds of error messages there. Guess I'll have to get MS
to fix this, don't want to start fooling with the registry.
Thanks for your interest and help

Uninstalled Norton completely (it left a lot of trash) still
non operational, will go to M/S for help with system restore.
Thanks for you help.
