Hi, I am creating Word templates for a bunch of people and want the formatting to be locked from editing and adding and this is all fine.

But I want them to be able to edit table preferences (shading, table width) and this is not possible as far as I know when you lock formatting.

Another thing I like them to be able to do is to use the highlight tool

Can I do this and how?

    Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Lounge, and sorry about the late reply!

I think the only way you could do this is by creating a series of macros in the template that
    - Unprotect the document
    - Apply some formatting
    - Reprotect the document.
For ease of use, assign the macros to buttons on a custom toolbar.
