    Angry

When playing a game using IE7, in the Title Bar I used to see the name of the game and the room I was playing in. Now across the very top, I see a URL instead. I've searched Options > Advanced and don't find anything that would correct the problem.

    All help will be appreciated.

Is this a web-based game, or run locally from a program on your pc?

Do you get the correct Title showing on other sites? I think the Title is a function of the web-page, so if it is only this site, it could be a coding 'error' by the author(s) of the website.

The game is Pogo and a web-based game. I'ts only that game that I see the misinformation. Web sites that aren't games show correctly, I don't play other games so I can't compare. If it's a coding error it only started recently. I've played that game for 6 years without a problem and it hasn't been updated in all that time although they do take it done sometimes for maintenance, so they say.

Which game within Pogo? Maybe it's exhibiting the same symptoms for everyone.

Gloria, it looks like a problem with their coding as it displays OK in Firefox but when in IE6 it says "Cannot Find Server - Microsoft Internet Explorer"

I would personally ignore it as the homepage HTML clearly has <title>Play Free Online Games, Internet Games, and Free Games | Pogo Games</title> in it

Just curious Gloria. Why do you consider this a "problem" ??? It's a simple anomaly on the internet and nothing more.

Unless, of course, you are having trouble remembering where you are.

    Gloria,

As others have rightly noted, the "Title" text displayed in your browser is governed by the coding of the webpage itself. It is a 'meta tag' within the "Head"; first part of a HTML page. For example, for this thread the title is coded as:

    <title>Title Bar error - Woody's Lounge</title>

Thus, there is nothing amiss on your end and I would recommend you simply ignore it and leave your settings alone. The author/coder of the page has changed the tag or the text within the tag which has caused the issue with the title.

It happens with all games, I've thought of that.

I've asked others in chat and my sister who plays in the same rooms I do and they all said they see the game and the room.

It is possible that the title is dynamically generated by a script. However, if scripting were even partially disabled, you probably would notice some other problems.

If you are starting the game using a Favorite, try navigating another way in case you are using an older page.

With IE7 I don't get that can't find server message. I too tried the same game using Firefox and it doesn't show there. So it must be a problem with IE. The title you see is not what I see, it starts with http://pogo.com etc. and continues with the whole string. You have to be in the game window and not on the homepage.

For everyones information, I'm a registered user of Pogo. (in case that would make a difference).

Not using Favorites, I have a direct link on my desktop. I do use favorites when in Firefox, where the URL does Not appear. Now that you mentioned it, I'll check and see if Scripts is enabled. What ever it is now I'll reverse it and see if that helps.

If what you say was true, then why don't others in the same room, playing the same game see what I see?

Using a desktop shortcut is the same as using a shortcut in your Favorites menu. Try having your sister or one of your other gaming friends go to the page that they see the title the way you want to on your system, copy the address of that page and email it to you. Try the shortcut from within the email and if it works for you, then copy it and create a new desktop shortcut and delete the old one.

    Hi Gloria

Are your gaming friends in the same country as you, I note there is a redirect dependent on language and country settings, maybe that is the issue
