Is VS 2008 supposed to be able to install in Win_7? I've done it before, but this time I got the error below -- doing it as my user name, and as Administrator.

What would cause this and is there a solution?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Insufficient permissions to the registry key. Setting permissions on the key should help.

See if VS Install Error - Error 1406. SDK_Samples_for_VS helps.

    Dave:

I found it. I had installed VB 2008 before, so that even tough (technically) it's not supported, I didn't expect an issue. I was wrong. It was in conflict with another program I had installed. And it turned out strange, for whichever of the two I installed first, ran fine, and whichever I installed second, wouldn't.

Very strange, but I've got it (I think!).

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Joe, those didn't work for me, but as I noted (below), I luckily found my problem.

    Joe, my error.

I actually get the error during VB install, but it is through the VS 2008 interface.

The program is "Recycle Bin Manager, put out by SataLinkSoft -- http://www.satalinksoft.com/index.php?p=1_...ycleBin-Manager
