I have a query to append memo field data from an Access 2003 table into a 2007 memo field (with the Text Format set to Rich Text). The carriage returns in 2003 seem to be lost in the process as the text appears as one single paragraph in both the form and report display of the 2007 memo field.

Appreciate any insight as to possible causes and solution/workaround.

2007 Rich Text is not real Rich Text - instead it is HTML. HTML uses

    to indicate paragraph breaks.
So try using the Replace function to replace Chr(13) & chr(10) with "

    " in your append query

    Notes: Replace([MeetingNotes],Chr(13) & Chr(10),"

") where MeetingNotes was the original 2003 field name.
    Regards
    John
