Outlook express quit receiving my msn mail. It use to work.
I am getting the following message:
Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'MSN', Server: 'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Forbidden', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 998, Socket Error: 122, Error Number: 0x800CCC33

I can get the mail via the web browser so I know my username and password are correct.

    Welcome to the Lounge!

Since September 1, 2009 it is no longer possible to use Outlook Express with Hotmail. You could download and install its free successor, Windows Live Mail, or Outlook if you already have that.

See Important info if you access Hotmail using Outlook, Outlook Express, or Entourage.

I'd recommend you investigate using Mail - Windows Live. It is the follow on product to OE.

Just as a point of information, I still run OE6 and use Outlook Express for my email and I am still able to access my .msn email account through OE. I had some connection issues a week or so ago, but it seemed to be a server issue as it rectified itself within an hour with no intervention or changes made by me.

If you already had your email setup as POP3 you'd be OK. If not, you are just lucky. I'd not count on it working much longer.

As I said, I mention it only as a point of information so that the OP has a complete set of facts to address the problem with.

Did you get the same error as the OP? You did not say.

I don't get any error. I just get my email delivered to my OE Inbox from my MSN.com email address. It's an address I've had for over 15 years and has always been on my OE accounts list.
