Scrolling required again with Netscape

Well, it's happened again. When I open some threads in Netscape, flat view, the print is too large to fit on the screen & scrolling is required.

For example, see Word thread starting 1/17 called "Document Corruption". Anyone else having trouble with Netscape viewing messages?

There's nothing wrong. The culprit is this message - he's used Pre tags to stop the quoted code from being reformatted.

Interesting. Gotta tell Andrew to start using those line continuation characters in his code.

But Phil, how big have you got your display font? - when I view that message, it all fits on my screen (using IE5).

Ian, Gary -- be nice! Some of us (like me) don't see as well as others, and have our forum fonts set at 1 or 2 (to enlarge a couple points). I've run into a lot of Andrew's codes that have caused me to have to scroll back and forth... but I've always thought they were worth it... uh, okay, usually.

    Hi Karen:

I actually know what you mean. I am using 800x600 on 17" monitor and I wear computer/reading glasses when I am working on computer (ok, most of the time).

I had multi-focals but found they were a literal pain in the neck after a while.

Re: Scrolling required again with Netscape

    Hi Everyone:

I can see the screen without scrolling in IE5.5. I use Netscape 4.75 with size 12TNR & Courier fonts. Although, in this Lounge, my display preferences are set to Verdanna fonts & use the default font size. I have a 17" monitor with the display set to 1024x768. That really should be wide enough.

I noticed that with Anndrew's message, it really doesn't matter whether I enable style sheets or not.

Eileen pointed out to me that I should stop switching back & forth between Netscape & IE. Since my email notifications to Netscape, & I can click & go directly to a message, I've decided to stick with Netscape as much as possible.

I've learned that no matter how good something is fixed, I can find a way to break it.

Oh boy, do I know that feeling! I still can't figure out what I did to break my lovingly created TagPanel on the Preview your Post screen...
