    Hi,

The attached spreadhseet outlines a table where crop yield is planned from January thru December.

So the December target = 40% growth

I want to have 1000 m3 (cubed) in December.

How can I use Excel to give me the backtrack values till January which equally distribute the % growth in a linear fashion?

    Thanks - Adam

The December value is 140% of the January value, so the January value is 1000/140%.
So the formula for B4 is:

    =M4/(100%+M3)

    The total growth is M4-B4.

Since you want to distribute the growth linearly, the monthly growth is (M4-B4)/11.
    The formula for C4 becomes

    =B4+($M$4-$B$4)/11

This can be filled to the right to cell L4.

Excel displays the results with many decimal places; you can format the cells to display whole numbers or only one decimal place.
