My Dad's laptop with Windows Vista using Outlook Express is only printing the headers on all emails. It will print all of everything else, but not the body of the emails. Has an HP Deskjet 812C. I deleted the printer and reloaded it. Same thing. No driver is available from HP directly.
I see this question posted a lot, but no answers. Hmmm One place said to change the Encoding in IE to "AutoSelect" I did that and that didn't make any difference. This occurs for all types, whether HTML or text.

Any clues how to fix this? Thanks!

Outlook Express on Windows Vista? Do you mean Windows Mail?

Yes, Sorry. Thinking back to the XP and back days. He doesn't have the full version, just the mail that comes with Vista.

I don't think this is a printer problem. As you mentioned, nobody appears to have a satisfactory solution.

Perhaps your father should download and install Windows Live Mail, the successor to Windows Mail. It's free, and it's supposed to be more stable.

OK, that's worth a shot. Haven't looked at that before.

Do you know if it will import from the WAB file for addresses?

Yes, it can: see Import contacts in Windows Live Mail.

Fantastic! I'll give that a shot and see how that does.

Wow, Live imported everything automatically and he was up and running within minutes. It now prints all emails.

    Many thanks!

Uh Oh. False alarm. It started by printing some of the emails with the new email program, but he said now, Windows Live Mail is doing the same thing by printing only the headers. Now what?

I'm sorry, I have no idea. I hope that someone else will have a helpful suggestion.

It is unlikely that WLM (or any program) would just change its behavior without some other change happening on the PC.

    Were any other updates installed?

    Was any new software installed?

    Was any new hardware installed?

If IE is not the default browser try making it the default browser.

Also, see #12 at OETips. Even though the post is about Outlook Express I think that WLM still uses the IE print engine and that tip may apply.
