I'd like to know how I can search for cells without conditional formatting applied please.

The only way I know currently is:
    1) satisfying the condition specified, so cells WITH the formatting display their changes, OR
    2) going through and checking each cell's formatting.

I need to check a whole area, so an automatic solution would be handy!

    Thank you.

Do you want to find cells with NO conditionl format applied?

    Try this macro:

    Code:
    Sub LocateNoCFCells()
    	Dim oCell As Range
    	Dim oRngFound As Range
    	For Each oCell In ActiveSheet.UsedRange
    		If oCell.FormatConditions.Count = 0 Then
    			If oRngFound Is Nothing Then
    				Set oRngFound = oCell
    			Else
    				Set oRngFound = Union(oRngFound, oCell)
    			End If
    		End If
    	Next
    	oRngFound.Select
    End Sub
