    Accessing achive.pst (Outlook 2000 SR 1)

Is it possible for more than one user to open a archive.pst. One user would like another to be able to open her archive.pst. We can get only one user to use it properly. If the second user is able to open the file then the original user is not able to access it. The file is stored in a folder on the network which both users have access to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and regards

Personal Folder files are intended to be just that - personal - so more than one user cannot have a .pst file open at a time. If two users both point to the same .pst file, the first one to open Outlook will get the file; the second will get an error.
The only way is to make a copy of the .pst file and have one user fix up to the master and the other fix up to the copy. When you want to update the copy, the user accessing that file will have to close Outlook before the copy will work.
Not satisfactory, but I hope this helps.

You might consider using public folders (if available on your Exch. servers) or net folders. But the latter are a little flaky, and are being dropped in XP.
