    I have a database with a splash screen graphic that appears momentarily when opening the related database. My question is how do I get the splash screen to display for longer than a blink so that users can see it?

    Is the "graphic" a picture on a form that has been set as the startup form of the database? If so, you have several options:

    If you want to display the form for a predetermined amount of time:
    - Set the TimerInterval property of the form (in the Event tab of the Properties window) to the number of milliseconds you want the form to remain open, e.g. 5000 for 5 seconds.
    - Create code in the On Timer event of the form:

    Code:
    Private Sub Form_Timer()
      DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.Name
      DoCmd.OpenForm "frmNextToBeOpened"
    End Sub
    where frmNextToBeOpened is the name of the form to be opened after the splash screen (if any).

    If you want the form to remain open until the user clicks on the picture:
    - Create code in the On Click event procedure of the picture:

    Code:
    Private Sub imgSplash_Click()
      DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.Name
      DoCmd.OpenForm "frmNextToBeOpened"
    End Sub
    where imgSplash is the name of the image control.

    If you wish, you can do both.
