    Unwanted frames (Win 95/Of 97)

In a Word document there appears a frame of dotted lines. I can't delete nor erase the frame. I have been experimenting with Microsoft Equation Editor. Could this be the source of the problem? How do I get rid of this?

Well, a text box/frame often appears when you click inside of it. However, you must then click on the border (frame) of the textbox to actually select (and then delete) the textbox. If it is a frame, I believe it works the same way.

Thanks for the comments. I cannot select nor delete the frame, if frame is the correct term. It is in two of my templates, but I ended up having to delete the template to get rid of the frame!

Why don't you upload the template, if you still have one, & we can take a look at it. I wonder if it's a paragraph or page border.

I see no frames. Do you have "Text Boundaries" checked in the Tools, Options?

Also notice that the header is set down to the middle of the page.

If you can do a 'screen capture' of a word file showing the frames and post it here, it might help us see what you are seeing.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

In page setup, vertical alignment was set to Center. This caused the header box to appear huge, even though there is no other reason for it. When header and footer are open, there is a dashed line box for the header, but in Print layout and Normal view, I don't see anything unusual.

It was the "text boundaries" check box. I don't know how I did that.

Thanks for finding a very dumb mistake.
