    I have 50 worksheets in an xls file. When I print all the worksheets I would like the footer to start on page 3 and end at 53, without going to each worksheet and changing the page number start number 50 times. (Excel 2003)

    Your best bet would probably be to use report manager.
    It was left out after Excel XP, but you can still download the add-in from Microsoft.

    Get Report Manager 2002 Here

    It will also work in Office 2007 and 2003

    The easiest workaround would be to insert two worksheets at the beginning of the workbook, enter something (even if only a space) in each of them, then print the entire workbook and discard the first two pages.
    (If you only entered a space, the printout of the first two sheets will be blank, so you can reuse the paper)

    Select all worksheets;
    Pull down File > Page Setup
    Select the Header Footer tab
    Click Custom Header or Custom Footer
    Enter "&[Page]+2" (without the quotes), where you wish the page number to appear
