    The ability to save or print a thread (see the Share links at the bottom of each thread) is a useful facility.

    However, there is no delineation to separate any quote and the answering text.

    This original excerpt:

    [attachment=86312:x.gif]

    clearly shows what is quoted text, and what is the reply, but this 'print' version:

    [attachment=86313:y.gif]

    makes it difficult to separate the two, and only the swirly arrow and reference to Hans indicate there is a quote in the post.

    (Interestingly, the Print/Save version uses actual time, not relative time!)

    This style sheet used for the print layout is missing: http://www.wopr.com/public/style_css.../ipb_print.css

    Once that is restored or renamed, it should be possible to determine whether the style sheet needs any improvements.

    == Edit ==

    Sorry, it's not missing, it's blank. Not sure how that happened.

    The print stylesheet and downloadable format should now be much improved.

    That is much better. Could I suggest adding this toner-saving rule to the print stylesheet (removing the background color in favor of a light border around the post body)?

    Code:
    @media print {
    .post_block {
    	background: #fff !important;
    	border: 3px double #B5C0CF !important;
    }
    }

    On some posts, such as Brian's daily updates, the content is too wide when printed at 100%. In lieu of using shrink-to-fit, it seems better to stop forcing the width to a particular pixel measurement. We also could declutter by removing the nav bar and the upper right header.

    Revised proposed addition to ipb_print.css:

    Code:
    @media print {
    .post_block { /* Save toner! */
    	background: #fff !important;
    	border: 3px double #B5C0CF !important;
    }
    #page { /* Stop right-side cut-off! */
    	min-width:50% !important;
    	max-width:100% !important;
    }
    /* Not useful on print! */
    #navigation, #header_right {
    	display:none;
    }
    }
    I realize this isn't very urgent, but hopefully it can happen at some point.
