<img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15>I have fouled up my file associations with Excel files in some weird way.
When I double click on an Excel file from File Explorer, a new instance of Excel is loaded, but the file is not loaded into Excel, and Explorer gives me a message "Cannot find the file "<pathfilename.ext>" (or one of it's components). The system cannot find the file specified. Make sure the path and filename are correct, and that all required libraries are available."
When I double click an Excel file attached to an Outlook e-mail message, a new instance of Excel is loaded, but the file is not loaded into Excel, and Outlook gives me a message that: "The system cannot find the file specified."
No other file associations have been munged. Previously a new instance of Excel would not load when I selected an Excel file in the manner described above. This behavior may have started when I ran the "crogram filesmicrosoft officeofficeexcel.exe" /Regserver command at the Run prompt a couple of days ago. Re-running the ...excel.exe /regserver command and running RegClean does not fix the behavior.
Suggestions for a fix?
