1. I have never got the hang of this functionality

Say I can run 1 mile in 7:30 mins, how far will I run in 12 minutes?

I am specifically looking at the Goal Seek answer

2. Goal seek will only work if you already have a formula that relates the time and distance. You can't use it if you merely enter constant values for the time and distance.

As you are no doubt aware, you can use a simple formula to calculate the distance, but that was not what you asked...

I got that bit, it was the order of the Goal Seek parameters

I have worked out it is 1.6 miles, I have attached the Excel wb here
