I have a user who was using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP3. She has some distribution lists (DL) in her Contacts folder with a lot of entries. Most if not all of these entries are not internal employees. She has been able to send the DL (as an attachment I presume) to people outside the organization and in their Outlook 2003 clients they were able to open the DL and see everything in it.

This user was recently upgraded to Office 2007 and when she follows the same steps in sending a DL to someone using Outlook 2003, when that person using the older client opens the DL it's blank.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

A couple of questions: Are you using Exchange Server with Outlook 2007, and if so what version of Exchange are you using? Also, exactly how is the Distribution List being created? Outlook online help for 2003 states that if the Distribtion List is stored in the EMAILS field, then it cannot be expanded by a recipient.

We are using Exchange Server 2007 with a mixture of Outlook clients (2003 and 2007), but the person sending these DL's is using Outlook 2007. The DL is created in her Contacts folder and populated with either people outside the company in her Contacts folder or by simply adding individuals to the DL directly without also adding them to the Contacts folder. I'll check into what you've noted about what the Outlook online help for 2003 states. Thanks.
