Hi, I have this printing solution in my mind: 1 word document that compiles several sub documents, and merges them all to the printer in the specified order, not only that, but printing some of the sub-documents from one tray, and other documents from another tray.

Does anyone know if there is built-in functionality for this type of procedure?

Word has (at least) three features for incorporating other documents. I haven't used them (except light use of the third one), but if you search here you can find more tips:

    (1) Master Documents (e.g., Master Documents - Word - Microsoft Office Online)

    (2) RD (Referenced Document) Fields

    (3) INCLUDETEXT Fields
