    Bios problem

I have recently tried to install a new motherboard and processor. The one I had in before I had to put an extended bios program in to have the board recognize the entire 13 gig. Now the new board has a problem communicating with the hard drive and will not boot up. I would like to do this without partitioning the hard drive and loosing infromation.

What motherboard have you got and does it come with a manual?

It is a SOYO V5EMA+ V1.0, and I do have the manual but it gives no information. I am waiting actually on a response from Western Digital since that is where I got the extended BIOS software that I installed to recognize the entire hard drive. It is a western digital IDE 13.0 gig

There is a BIOS upgrade from Soyo available for your motherboard. It is 128kb, so too big to post. Can email it to you, if you like; or you can download it from their site. Can't be sure that it will fix the problem, but update is dated May 2000, so ought to include support for larger IDE drives.
