In Word 2007, I insert a Filename /p field into a Footer. When the filename field updates (i.e. printing), some of the characters in the filename field change to a larger size. So the filename prints with some small characters, some large characters. I tried controlling it with the \* Lower switch, but that doesn't help.
This problem never happened in documents with filename field in the footer in previous versions of Word (i.e. 2003). Does anyone know the cause/solution to this problem?
    Thanks!

    Try adding the switch

    \* charformat

    to the field code.

Note: if present, remove the \* mergeformat switch from the field code.

Hans, thank you for the suggestion for *\charformat I will know for sure if this is working for all users in this department next week. And I'll let you know.

By the way, I had also tried creating a Character Style, and the font size for the style was 7.5 pt I applied that Character Style to the filename field, but it didn't help. That's when I decided to search online, and to post my issue on this forum.

    Thanks again very much.
