    XP pro sp3

    i istalled microsoft secuity essentials from

    could this caused by the fact that i may have had other anti spy ware and avg still active

    You should never have two antivirus programs with runtime protection active at the same time. So before installing Microsoft Security Essentials, you should completely uninstall AVG.
