I'm exporting contacts in .CSV format from one application for import into another application, and my task is matching the fields. The originating application has far fewer fields than does the receiving application, thus I wind up having to "insert cells" (columns) in Excel in order to fill out the .csv file so that the receiving application applies the incoming data in the correct field. Having filled out the .csv file with a bunch of blank spaces, I'd like to have each blank space show or read "(null)" -- no quotes -- so that the receiving application stays on track and doesn't choke. Basically, how do I search for [empty cell] and replace it with "(null)"?
