    Emboldened Contacts

I have set up a public folder for my 17 users so they can share contact information - all is well except sometimes all contact records appear emboldened, sometimes only those that contacts which been accessed, sometimes none at all. They seem to be treated like mail ie read/unread but a) I can't work out what the principle is and B)I don't know how to change it. Its very confusing to people, let alone annoying. Anyone got any ideas?
    (NT server, W98 locally)

look at the view > current view menu. are you applying a formatting that makes some bold? also, is everyone seeing the same thing or just you/some of the users?

Which verison of exchange server are you using?

NT4 (SP6 I think) We all experience the same thing. I'm certainly not aware of having set any formatting. It feels like Outlook thinks my folder is a "mail" environment and is treating the records as un-read. So it appears to mark them all as unread every time someone reboots their machine.

this is exchange server public folder not a netfolder shared folder? I've seen that behavior in netfolders, since they arrive in mail.

If everyone sees it, it's not view. Views are controled locally.

    Re: Emboldened Contacts

To be frank Mary, it was more luck than judgement that I got it going at all - I haven't heard of a netfolder and I fiddled for hours on the server so I think its an ordinary server-managed public folder. I run a small business and I'm the IT department because there's no-one else!! (Which is why I find the lounge so useful)

you're connecting to exchange server mailboxes and in your profile have
    "Public folders" and
    "All Public Folders" ?

view > folder list is you aren't using it.

Yes it does; exactly like your pictre. The folder is within "All public Folders". Sorry for delay in replying - I went to bed (UK time)
