I have a .docm that I use for my reports. I use VBA to assist me with some conditional formatting on Drop down Form Fields that I use. This VBA allows my drop downs to change different fill colors for each selection within that table. It works great 95% of the time. What seems to happen is when I have to make some changes to document and I remove protection, make changes and then re-apply protection it then sometimes will color fill a different table (usually in bottom left corner table in black) when using the Drop down Form Fields again or and after I have added data into a few location then press the save button. I’ve even noticed that it will also do this in a different table with same color as Drop down Form Field that is being used. I use a combination of 20 .docm for my reports and I only seem to have a problem using a couple. All my Form Fields have different names. Any thought what might be the problem. Like I said it doesn’t always happen, it’s rare, but never the less it does it happen. I have attached docm in question below

What should we test? It's a rather large form...

    Hi HansV
Yes you are right, it is somewhat large, it took some time to put it together.
As I do my reports, I navagate all around document, so there is no set pattern, sorry.
and as data is entered I periodically apply the save button. I was thinking it had something to do with protection, on / off
I tried to reinact the problem and I was unable to figure out what seems to be causing the problem.

Have you tried closing then reopening the document before resuming work with the formfields? If not, it's possible the manual unprotecting & reprotecting is messing up some of your variables.

Does the attached version work better?

Note: don't replace your version with mine - I opened and saved the document in Word 2002 so some features may have been lost in the conversion.

    Hi HansV
I noticed the changes you made in the code, looks good and appears to function good, it doesn’t seem to have that hesitation as it did before, I'll apply it to one of my reports and put it throw the ringer (figure of speech) and see how it holds up. I’ll get back with you and let you know…….
    Thank you so much
    Also thank you macropod.

    Hi HansV
I made the changes to ThisDocument and Module 1, as in the sample that you provided for me, to my report .docm .
With some thorough testing, I tested it every which way I could think of…….
    It worked great
    Thank you so much.
