I have a lot of music (ripped from CD's and LP's) in my PC Library. Is it possible to connect my PC into my HiFi Amp (to output through my Hifi Speakers).

    Thanks, in anticipation, GrayEagle

The PC's headphone output probably is the only standard audio out on a recent model PC. However, you may well be able to add something more advanced. Perhaps this post will get more feedback if we slide it over to the Hardware board?

This is an off the cuff response based on long term experience.

First you may have a component of micro processor noise in your audio. Can be filtered but it is a pain.

Second have a heads up for ground loops and common mode noise.

Use common sense but both are somewhat a black art.

Yes, it is possible. All you need is a simple 3.5mmn to 2xPHONO jack lead to connect the headphone out on the PC to a spare (Aux) in on the amp. There is a laptop in our house connected up this way.

Works fine but is not likely to satisfy a HiFi purist.

Hi Doc, your suggestions are great. I'll extract them and keep for future reference.
    Thanks again, GrayEagle
