    Hi,

I have Word 2007. I have two columns but I am using a left tab positon rather than the column command for the second column. When I type a multi-line item in the second column , the soft return (i.e., end of the line is reached and Enter key is not pressed) returns to the left margin rather than to the left tab position. How do I make the return to the left margin (i.e., first column) occur only with hard returns (that is, when I press Enter key)?

    Thank you.

    Create a hanging indent:

HansV, thank you very much. The hanging indent to make two columns worked perfectly on the project I was working on.
