    after installing ie-8 my computer froze and i cant access anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled ie-8 and still have the same problem.

    Hi Ed and welcome

    One thing you can check is event viewer (type eventvwr in search). You are looking for errors in the windows logs>application tab. Errors have a red 'x' in the left coulum and the ones you are interested in will say something like app hang, app crash, etc. There is a lot of data to look through but worth it When you find them (and you will) note the event ID and source codes. Google tham and it will point you in the direction to solve the freezes.

    If you're running Windows 7, you already had IE8. Are you talking about installing IE8 in a different version of Windows?

    I don't think I'm going to be able to help myself, but I did notice another version of this post here in Test:
