    After completing a successful transfer from OE6, every few minutes OE6 pesters with an automated message that appears and beeps for attention. It says by clicking on OK OE will compact the files. It won't stop even if the one clicks OK.
    I have chosen WLM as the preferred e-mail client.
    What to do?

    Somehow it would seem that the Outlook Express program msimn.exe may still be active, even after your transfer to WML (WIndow Live Mail??). Check in Task Manager -> Processes and terminate the task. See if it comes back after a reboot.

    I've recently swapped from OE 6 to Outlook 2003, and not had any problem...

    Hi Perry and welcome

    Wade through this thread at Lockergnome, I think it'll give you some pointers as to what's wrong and how to overcome it. I'm guessing it's (Windows) Desktop Search's indexing that's the trigger, only you can confirm or deny that though .
