    Hi;
    I am slow moving to Windows 7. I want to know all the difficulties before jumping in. On my current XP system i keep a FAT32 partition for some data that will go to other systems. 1 simple question, can Windows 7 write files to a separate FAT32 partition if installed on NTFS?

    Yes

    Windows 7 can read and write FAT32 partitions with no problem.

    Stuart beat me to it since I wasn't sure and just wrote a text file from Win 7 to a FAT32 partition I keep on one of my SATA drives.

    Good luck with your move to Win 7!
