    Is it possible to display today's date within a chart's title or somewhere on the chart so that it will display the current date when it is printed?

    In a cell on a worksheet, enter a formula that returns today's date, if desired with additional text, e.g.

    =TODAY()

    or

    ="Sales Chart for "&TEXT(TODAY(),"dddd mmmm d, yyyy")

    (This is essential, you can't use formulas in the title of a chart)
    Activate the chart.
    If you want to set the title of the chart, click on the title, otherwise skip this step.
    Type =, then point to the cell with the formula, and press Enter.
    You'll see a formula that looks like this in the formula bar:

    =Sheet1!A1

    You'll see the result of the formula in the chart title, or in a text box floating above the chart - you can drag it to location you prefer.

    Note: you can of course display the date in the page header or footer too.

    If the chart is on its own sheet then you could just add the standard header/footer to that sheet, this would then print with the chart

    Or

    put the formula "=now()" into a cell and press enter (you should see the date)

    goto the chart area of the chart and in the excel function bar (where formula normally appear) enter "=cell with now formula"
    (e.g. =sheet1!a1)

    Thanks to both of you I was able to include the date onto my chart and even tested it by changing my computer date to make certain that the date appearing on the chart would change.
