Using IE 8 on a Vista Home Premium computer, I lost the "Send page by email" and "Send link by email" features on the FILE/SEND menu. How can that be restored? I have tried some suggestions I received from a general search in Google and I have installed all updates and reinstalled IE 8. Any suggestions?

    In IE8:
    Tools > Options > Programs....

What do you have listed for Email?

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

I am using Outlook 2007 with SP 2. It seems Outlook opens in every situation that calls for the default email program except this one. Thanks for responses.

Does clicking on this test link create a new message in Outlook?

Have you got/ have you had the Google toolbar installed?

Can you send the page from within Outlook? (Instructions here: 3 Easy Ways To Send a Complete Web Page via Email)

(I'm afraid I'm grasping a straws here! Hopefully something will pin down what's wrong...)

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yes, I have the Google Toolbar. This process worked. I only tried the second part the other day. The first part made te real difference.

Setting the default mail client in Windows Vista

    • Click Start, select Default Programs
    • Click Set program access and computer defaults
    • Click Custom, and select your mail client (for example, Windows Mail)
    • Click OK

    Then, follow these steps:

    • Click Set your default programs
    • Select your mail client from the list
    • Click Set this program as default
    • Click OK
