Has anyone found good free BMI (Body Mass) calculation code that I could put into my database.

    Thanks.

The formula for BMI is simple - you can use it in a calculated field in a query or in the control source of a text box on a form or report.

See Body mass index and choose the formula that matches the units used to enter weight and length.

The basic formula is simple, but you need to factor in sex and also get a percentile.

That's what online versions do and what I need for my reporting.

That's quite a bit more than what you originally asked...

Perhaps you can use HealthWatch from BV Tech. It utilizes an Access database.

BMI is a crude and unreliable indicator. Why use it?

I have a project that needs BMI for children. So I export the data to a text file, the researchers doing the project run it through a stats package, then reimport the BMI and Percentile.
