Hi Im new to this forum and perhaps I have overlooked some things, but I have 2 questions.

Is there a setting so that I can view the posts that I am responding to.
Often times there is information in the previous posts that would be helpful to see when typing a response in order
    to give more accurate info.

My second question is in regards to the ability to see which posts I have responded to.
I have seen other forums that place small icons next to the subject line to indicate if the question has been read and a different color icon if the
question has been responded to by me.
Some forums have yet one more color to show that a new response has been added since my response.
Is there such a feature on this forum that I have over looked?

I realize that I can set it up so as to get an Email for each one but I would rather not do that.

If I am missing something please let me know.

Firstly - the posts should appear above or below the reply entry field (depending on whether you are using the Fast Reply field or not).

Second point - there is an almost imperceptible orange something on the bottom right of the thread icons which I believe indicates you are a participant.

    (See the centre post icon)

Additionally, if in your settings you elect to get notifications of replies to all posts you respond to, they should show up under the 'Your notifications' tab.

The orange dot is rather vague on most video cards/monitors.

Just to add my two cents worth: those graphics have gotta be improved. Looks like someone found and set the opacity button to 5%!

In HansV's image, they are faded because he already viewed all the posts in those threads. It's no so bad where there are new posts.

But the icon for threads that have been read could, and should, be improved - it's all too easy to overlook the faint orange dot.

Very faint! I don't understand why they don't use the icons that already exist in the lounge. See help > Topics and Forums. Those icons are much easier to read and interpret. It's no doubt a resources issue.

The current icons were designed specifically for the new Lounge, to go with the Windows Secrets layout. The ones in the Help files which still haven't been updated are the default IP.Board 2 icons...

On some video cards, the orange dot is more pronounced:

but on most, they are too faint.

    Ok this is odd.
I dont have them in my browser.
Actually I have 3 different browesers and nothing.
In this K Meleon browser I see the Sticky Icons and nothing below them.
In IE and Safari I see all icons and no orange indicator..
I dont have FF installed right now.

It might have to do with your video card/monitor - as you may be able to see in the two screenshots I posted in this thread, the way the icons are displayed can be very different depending on the video card (and monitor).

Interesting - those icons look completely differently from what I see in Windows XP. Perhaps it'll give the support admins a handle on this problem.

I suppose I could have mentioned that I was on Vista but it didnt occur to me.
I see that you figured it out though.
Unfortunatly like the Lounge yesterday the XP side of this computer is down for service.
Its been 4-5 years on the same image (repeated) so I think its time for a new one.

One other possible option that I have seen since you will toss this to the admins.
Maybe an extra column to show who was the last to respond to the post.
In the case of this post I just didnt know if someone had responded or not as stated above.
I knew today that you had due to your earlier responses.

    EDIT
As a quick note I can see some icons such as locks and moved.
I can also see all icons in the upper level pages.
It is when I come down to a subsection such as this one that i cant see them.
