Much talk about ditching IE8 in favour of Firefox or Google Chrome as my browser.

Why is IE8 considered bad ?

What are the pros & cons of Firefox and Google Chrome ?

    Which would you reccommend ?

    Many thanks in advance.

I have NOT left IE except to try out some of the other browsers. I see NO need to change unless there is something in the others that make it worth while for YOU.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Having used Firefox for 5 years, I am very accustomed to it and have installed add-ons that I suspect would be difficult to replicate in other browsers. Extensions such as NoScript, which manages JavaScript permissions on a host-by-host basis, give me an extra layer of control.

That said, there are some web pages that only work in IE (at the office, one of our key applications only works specifically in IE7), and all web pages I develop need to work in IE, so I envision using IE for many years to come.

As for Safari, Opera, and Chrome, they have their strengths, but I am not sufficiently dissatisfied to learn and customize a new browser.
