Display: Netscape v. IE

I notice that the display is quite different in the two browsers. Netscape is sort of like a table with different shading. Also, unread posts are not only indicated in parentheses, but it will say "5 new", or something like this.

IE is just a white page with no apparent table. The same stuff is there (icons, text, etc.) but the layout is much different.

I'm wondering why this is.

The display that you're getting in Netscape is the correct one. It should be the same in IE - your IE (settings?) must be a bit off.

I'll be dammed. I've had IE (different versions) for years & must have always had my settings screwed up. I feel like someone who has just had their sight restored.

I went to Tools/Internet Options/General/Accesibility & found that I had checked to ignore web page fonts & colors. I unchecked them & now:

A. The colors all work.
B. The display between Netscape & IE is the same.

Gee, I can't wait to see what the Internet looks like "In Living Color".
